If you have defined a sub-workflow, then you can call the sub-workflow from a main workflow with the To sub-workflow component below.
During processing the main workflow will call the sub-workflow and when the sub-workflow is done the processing will return to the main workflow. Any changes to the payload or workflow variables in the sub-workflow (or new workflow variables) will be kept when the processing returns to the main workflow.
This can be useful, if you want to divide a large, complex workflow into smaller workflows, or if you want to reuse the same (sub) workflow for multiple main workflows.
You insert the component in the main workflow by first clicking a '+' icon which makes this window pop up:
Here you click the Workflows tab in the top right and then you see the list of all sub-workflows. (In the image above I have scrolled down).
The workflows are listed in this order:
First all sub-workflows are listed, that accepts the current payload type as input, then all other sub-workflows are listed. Only the first workflows can be selected.
Regarding the sub-workflows, that accepts the current payload type: First workflows in groups are listed - per group name. The groups are shown in dark grey. You can click a group in order to expand it and select a sub-workflow within the group. Last workflows without a group are listed.
The same goes for the sub-workflows, where the payload type of the main workflow does not match the input type of the sub-workflow: First the sub-workflows within groups are listed and then all remaining sub-workflows, that are not in a group. All sub-workflows that does not have a matching input type are listed in light grey and they cannot be selected. If you really need to call a sub-workflow, that you cannot select, then you can consider e.g. to insert the workflow component,
Force content type in the main workflow to pretend that the payload is something else.
The component has only one parameter:

- Endpoint unique ID
Here the name of the sub-workflow is shown. In principle you can type in the name of the sub-workflow, but the normal (and safe) procedure is to select the sub-workflow as above.
The sub-workflow must have the input type From other workflow.
