Email notifications

Email notifications

InterformNG2 can send out email notifications.

On the system level you can setup a global email server and when that is setup you can choose these email notifications:
Health emails

Health emails

That is also setup on the global email settings. If configured the selected email address will receive a warning email if InterformNG2 detects a potential issue for the system health.

Email password recovery
A very helpful tool is the email password recovery email. If this is setup the users can request a password recovery mail to be sent to the persons email account if the password has been forgotten.

On the global email setting you need to setup the URL for InterformNG2:

When that is setup the users can now request a new password on the sign on pop-up window:

If the user click on this icon they are requested to type in the user id or email address:

and when the user clicks on Send this confirmation will be shown:

and email will be sent with a link to be used for typing in the new password.

On the tenant level you can setup one or multiple tenant email servers. When you have done that you can send out emails in the workflows. That can e.g. be used for sending out an email if an error should occur. There are two kinds of error notifications:
Error report email
On the tenant logging settings you can setup an email address, which is to receive an email each time an error occurs in this tenant:

It requires, that you have already setup a tenant email server, which you can refer to above.

This kind of email is a fixed type will be sent for all errors with the subject stated in the configuration. The body section of the email is the stack trace of the error.
User defined error email
Instead of the fixed error report email you can also consider to setup your own error emails. The reasons for doing that may be:
1) Perhaps you do not want to be informed by email of every error that occurs.
2) Perhaps different you want to send to different email receivers depending on which workflow, that stopped with the error.
3) You might want to decide for the contents and attachment(s) of the emails yourself.

If you want this kind of flexibility you should consider to setup an on error workflow on the main workflow or even consider to setup an error handler. In this way you decide yourself which workflow to call if an error occurs and what this workflow should do.

Here you can setup an email in the error workflow, that is triggered.
Here is an example for inspiration of what you can do in an error workflow.
